I have just handed my notice in. Only 18 shifts left and 7 of those are nights. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
So today seemed as good as any to start this thing....... ran to work this morning with heavy legs from yesterdays busy shift, but got there with enough time to have my 'Olympic Breakfast'! Can't remember what I used to before the Olympics started. Managed to watch some of the track heats today, this meant hiding in x-ray to see their TV-didn’t get caught!
Ran home, rubbish time but psychologically feel good as that's 2 days in a row that I've run in and home again. This isn't quality training but it's good to make my head and legs do stuff when they're tired and don't wont to. All good training for the 'challenge that dare not speak its name'!
That's the real reason for this diary. I'm going to use it in conjunction with my training log to help measure and motivate myself for the previously mentioned challenge.... I still can't say it aloud just yet. If all goes well at the High Peak 40 then I might be able to formally announce to myself what I really want to achieve.
