as an old boss of mine used to say, 'i haven't got time to shit' at the moment. despite being warned numerous times by numerous people, i'm still shocked at how 'full time' nurse skool is. but i'm still enjoying it and haven't missed a lecture yet - this is uncharted territory!
in between pedaling back 'n forth to skool, i've been doing the odd spot of swimming and even managed some (very) short road runs. if would appear that 6months off running has cured my knee..... now is probably as good a time as any to announce this years race that's going to kick my ass ..... the ben nevis triathlon. but it's ok, it's not til september, plenty of time......

Good to hear your coping with skool. Looked at that Ben Nevis race. The 90km MTB bit looks mental enough without the run and the sea loch swimming bit! That's surely got to be at LEAST a 6 hour race overall? Mentalist.
Lol, I looked at the Ben Nevis Tri but its too far for me, I got scared just reading those distances. I'm beyond crap at swimming so would drown in the loch. Good luck with the training and skool.
vdubber- 6!!!!! try doubling that! what with all the change of outfits ;)
julbags- ah, come on. i can't even do the crawl! sign up, it'll be reet!
woohoo! see you there! It will be amazing. The bike isn't as bad as you might think.
fantastic!! ...it's not the bike bit i'm worried about ;) but i am considering fitting gears for it-is there quite a long road section? mainly i need to get a LOT better at swimming. good luck with your training :)
The road section is quite long - really undulating. The off-road 'up' is pretty long -wouldn't like to do that without a granny gear, I had to push bits by lap four as it was. The swim is just about surviving it and coping with the cold, rather than actual ability. I'm sure mountain biking helps increase the toughness required for swimming!
i feel a shiver just thinking about it..how cold will that water be up there!! brrrr.
Ha, typically not doing things by halves! I watched that video clip. Strikes me it's a nice day out running and riding ruined by a swim! Good luck though matey.
elizabeth- so you were pushing and you had gears...perfect argument for ss ;)
uc- can't be colder than my local pool!! *just like the olden days*
jumbly- yeh, i've decided NOT to watch that clip ;)
