it's too soon to use the 't' word but it's been a good week. 100m pedaled, a couple of short road runs, a lovely sunset trail run and an hours worth of swimming. what i need is five more of these then i can start operation ridiculous tri.
100miles commuting? That is good going! When I'm commuting a lot I have no chance of running and/or swimming as well. You are becomming a true triathlete!
uc- i've never been tempted by triathlons but like you say this one is different...and have you seen how difficult it is to get an entry for the ben hill race ;) re:photo, thanks! lovely run last night, did you see the moon?! jane can't be tempted by this race but that's what she said about the hpm...
trio- ah, but your commute is more than double and then you still ride for fun ;) you are a machine!
Kate my commute varies, so this last week it was often longer. Although still two days of 12miles each way. But on a big commute week I don't ride for fun as too tired.
Now that you are a triathlete I think we will call you the machine!
You are utterly, gloriously bonkers. Go for it! Hope you can find time for the incredibly tedious swim training. 1900m in a sea loch is some going. I shall follow your progress with awed fascination.
Ridiculous, but in the most glorious way! Go for it!! If only I could swim and bike at anything above pootling level I'd almost be tempted myself...
Got a few mates doing the Hathersage Hilly Tri in July. Possible training bridge for ya? It's much easier obviously. I might enter the team event and do the running thingy bit...
Doing what you say you're going to..... sounds suspiciously like a training plan..... now I'm suspecting identity theft, this post has been written by an impostor.
trio- ....i've not ridden off road since 'puffer...
sbrt- the way i think, is that if you do something shorter you have to be quicker-i am never going to be quick!
hayfella- why thank you :) yeh, the whole swimming thing. erm, it's going to be more about survival for. still learning how to front crawl :-\ !
simon- that's the problem with you speedy folks, always worrying about being slow ;) i had seen that race and am tempted. but the idiot in me would like the ben tri to be my first ever triathlon...yeh, i should probably try (hahaha) the other tri first ;)
jumbly- contact jane if i start talking about heart rates and brick sessions ;)
Trying to play catch up :-( was talking to Simon on sunday at Wolf's Pit, says he's a pal of yours :-) anyway, that DOES sound like a great tri :-) I bet the tattoo is MUCH better! ;-)
emma- hi there :) yup, tis a small blogging world. probably see him at edale if you're going. if i do finish this event, i will get it tattooed on my forehead!!!

Wow! You dont do things by halves. That is a truly ridiculous Tri.
Sorry to mention the T word but I think you may need to do more than 100 metres a week =)
