good housekeeping
90g soft unsalted butter
100g caster sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon real vanilla extract
200g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
This is my attempt at the lovely biscuits Jane made the other day. Due to certain dietary needs I used Trex instead of butter but I'm hoping that once iced they're look more enticing! The recipe is a Nigella Lawson which therefore means you have to lick the the bowl clean in a seductive manner, even if it is mainly raw egg and flour.
Jane's christmas cake also made an appearance this evening for it's weekly feed. She's also bought and wrapped and of her presents. It's only the 8th....

Thanks for the biscuit recipe, might make those tomorrow. Cake looks nice too. We fed brandy to our main pudding yesterday and we've eaten our practice pud!
practice pud! didn't have you down for a martha stewart ;)
grrr...can't get photos where i want them. i probably shouldn't be so bothered!
Yeah the practice pud was the left over mixture we didn't have a pudding bowl big enough for what I made, even though I halved Delia's recipe. So, yeah I guess I have a hint of the Martha Stewart, without the prison time for financial impropriety I hasten to add.
Glyn makes better cakes than me though, and he makes the best scones ever!
Since the race is over I guess I can now pile on the kilos again. :-) Mmmhhh, I love cookies.
I need to get started on some Christmas baking! I love Nigella recipes and will have to try those biscuits. Yummy looking pud!
you guys sound toooo organised for xmas!
i have a friend called TRex too, but you wouldn't want to put him in a cake mix.
