Last night we went to Broadway to watch 'The Best of Kendal Mountain Film Festival'. There were the usual climbing and biking shorts that left me with very sweaty palms as people with super human skill grappled with falling cornices or bunny hoped from branch to branch in deepest British Columbia. However. the most surprising and intresting film was 'Journey Of A Red Fridge' (Directed by Lucian Muntean and Natasa Stankovic). The film follows Hari, a 17 year old porter, as he carries a fridge down a mountain for repair. A very simple idea, simply shot, raising difficult questions. A worthy winner of the Best Mountain Culture Film.
The other question it also raised was why would you need a fridge above the snow line? But I don't think that was the point!
