as predicted

everything was going well. new bars on and nearly half the weight of the previous one. left pedal off, left crank off. no problems. right pedal, ooh, it's a bit tight. big effort, hand slips, thumb nail chain ring interface. do a little sweary dance. feel a little bit sick. now have a small hole in the middle of the nail that wont stop bleeding. eventually extracted cranks and new ones fitted. no longer able to see the beauty in the polished aluminium. ring-spider is 1/8" ......going to town now to buy a new chain.

Flaming Ouch! Much sympathy from me, that is exactly the kind of thing I do when spannering.

Oh no. I'm feeling a bit guilty for not offering to do them for you.

I could have sat on the carpark yesterday fitting them while u lot were all climbing.

That looks pretty sore!
Atleast you don't need to use you're thumbs too often.....oh wait..

Hope it gets better soon!

Should that post not come with a warning?

Don't want to say 'I told you so' but...

Looks painful, like the time my friend got his finger caught between chain and chain-ring and managed half a back-pedal at the same time...

Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! I'm cringing for you - just looks so sore!!! Actually, it looks oddly similar to what happens if you accidentally take a potato peeler to your nail(bed). No laughing here ... just whimpering noises!!!

Ouch! I can picture you doing the dance and feeling all sick. Oh, Kate. Hope the pain stopped by now. The nail will probably turn blue and fall off eventually.

What have you got against nails anyway!

nails are over rated ;)
