not strictly fartlek but speed work-ish. 1m warm up, 3m at 7.20 pace, 1m warm down. a look at the the graphs and wiggly lines from the training brain show i probably could/should have pushed harder. but it's wet and am i tired and it's done now.
first week over, all sessions done. just one easy run swapped for a pedal.

Yay! Such a good start, well done.
well done, keep up the good work.
on a slightly geeky note, it'll be interesting to see if your pace drops as your overall total volume increases
Not bad, not bad.
How was dragging yourself out for a hard run after work?
7:20 pace is pretty good going, no wonder you did so well in the run at SITS!
jumbly- thanks for your help
rich- cheers :)
uc- i'm hoping so. still trying to get to grips with the garmin
trio- but strangely my ave. heart rate for the 'fast' bit was only slightly higher then when on the 'long' run. must try harder
If I did half your training schedule would that mean I could run for 47 miles? It all looks horrifically hard!
Whats the difference between and easy run and a steady run?
BTW: I have no intentions of doing half that. My legs still hurt from Saturday and I only jogged/walked 6 miles!
Well done! Keep going!
er..you're hoping your faster session's pace drops?!
thanks chas! yeh, well spotted uc but you know what i mean ;)
