the hours

in august i spent 20:55hrs pedaling, 21:15hrs running and only 15hrs trying to write an essay. 85% of that skool work was done in the past 36hrs. the deadline, today of course. never again. i am making a public promise to myself (not about the biking or running-shhhhh, remember). there's leaving things to the last minute and literally pulling it out of your arse. next big deadline is october 7th, feel free to remind me! in the mean time, boooooze. have a good weekend ya'll!

Lots of hours of biking and running there.

Essay's are meant to be done at the last minute.

Deadlines are weird. It's so hard to do things weeks before. Sometimes it's like inspiration hangs back until the last minute, even if I set aside time and try to "be good" about it.

Your photos of rocks, bracken, heather, etc, finally got me off the road and out running on the fells today.

Is there any other way to complete assignments than in a long night before the day it's due? Some thrive under pressure... :-)

Well done for getting your head down in the end. Now relax and enjoy a day off from it all!

You last minute merchant you, good job that's not the approach you take to your athletic prowess and race preparation...

I reckon studying can only be made exciting by starting essays the night before a deadline. Booze away, it's well deserved I'd say. RB

perhaps it's the time of year but one of our students offered me two hundred quid last week tow rite an essay for her. probably not the most professionally supportive i said i wouldn't do it, not because the cash offer was unsound, but because the thought of it 'sickened me'.

i did feel the slightest guilt about that so went back later to see what it was all about. my resultant advice gave her an essay structure and enough bullet points for her of complete within a mere twenty four hours. but which patient is that she asked?

ah, wee student, i smiled, this is an essay patient and as such more of an amalgam, a set of illustrative examples. the other staff nodded sagely. you want bullshit they said, there's your man...

hahaha, now i know where to come!! boy, £200 in student money is a LOT, she must have been truly desperate. i've made a vague start on the next one, it's on social policy/public health which i actually find interesting. and certainly easier than the continual pieces of reflection that we're asked to do..... i'll start saving now ;)
