2 cokes and a pickled egg

today i had my first (and last) pickled egg. it's strange what dehydration and the shock of september sun can do.

new shoes. the fear of a fast approaching trail race. blue skies. and the motivation of friends (real and virtual). led to a morning on the first half of the edale skyline.

easy chatting up ringing rodger. actual proper running along the edge. steady and comfortable up win hill. holding back on the down into the valley. slow and steady to the top of loose hill. thirsty, thirsty work. a gentle trot along to mam tor. a confidence boost that my running needed. and maybe just , maybe the start of real training...or just the start of a lovely weekend.

One of these days I will be fit enough to join you and Jane for that run!

I think cycling up Win hill will kill me off at the moment!

Top day out as always, thanks for saving me from a crispy, thirsty, shriveled, death.

yikes- a pickled egg? I haven't tried because it sounds pretty nasty. I'm glad that you have already confirmed this for me ;)

one of my favorite places and wet and ran that very route only a few weeks ago...another runner needing a confidence boost. Well done Kate, you'll be doing the full skyline in March then?

Hey Kate, you are becoming a really good writer. It's almost a poem. Well done on the run, too. You are impressing me! When are you going to by heart rate monitors and other gadgets and start showing us graphs? ;-)

I liked the writing too Kate, you made pickled eggs poetic, that's some talent.
I quite like pickled eggs, at least the I sort of remember having following a pub crawl a few years ago. Or is that just plain wrong? RB.
