not being a domestic goddess

after a morning of semi successful bike wrestling-no injuries but the freewheel remains in place and still rattling- i then embarked on making a cheese cake, in preparation for tomorrows dinner guests. this meant that lunch didn't really happen, a few crumpets and obviously some digestives whilst making the cake base. i discovered this is not particularly good preparation for a 14m run.

Top tune! My run tune for today was.....awimbawe, awimbawe, awimbawe (can you guess what it is yet?). Embarassing admission as it got me through more than one long run in prep for my mara.

I get a bloke in for bike maintenance so can't help there sorry.

Nigella doesn't have dirt ingrained under her fingernails when she's baking. It's a pity, it's a look I could get to like...

Good workout tune. I was listening to Janis Joplin on my wee ski yesterday.

cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeesecake :-) now if only it didn't mush up in the bottom of rucksacks :-( and I don't believe for one minute you're not at least a semi domestic goddess!

Hi Kate,
I just happen to love cheese cake!! I have never had a crumpet before. This might be a stupid question...but what is it? Is it like a cookie? Are they good and if they are do you have a good recipe for cumpets?

I am glad to hear that the wrestle with your bike went well:) Have a great weekend Kate!!

i meant to say..i cant work out whether your phrasing of 'dinner guests' sounded incredibly posh or had overtones of hannibal lectur to it ;)

Hi Kate, Great tune!
Any particular flavour of cheesecake? Or was it your essential lemon/cream cheese/digestive combo?

julbags- that's a great tune. i'd have trouble not squealing along to that one!

uc- nah, i wash my hands enough at work

thunder- do think nigella does her bike maintenance in soft focus ;)

emma- we can never meet, if that's what you think of me...you'll only be disappointed ;)

sally- i have exactly the same problem. i've started wearing a hat, i don't want it to get warmer!!

julie- crumpetsmmmmm...

uc- i'll have you know i'm very sophisticated. and particularly like a dessert after a good killin'

hayfella- chocolate flavour but i think i might prefer the more traditional kind. oh, well, i'll just have to make another ;)

I can't get the freewheel off my roadie either. I've hit it and hit it with a big hammer until I broke the spanner. Annoying aren't they!

Ummmm, Cheesecake.
