30in30

This is a direct pilfer from other people's blogs:
Jenn Minx
Samuri
and various others I've come across-not in a weird stalking way, honest!!
The concept is simple, there are 30 days in November, so why not cycle 1 hour (or more!) everyday. In my case I will also be 30 in this month, all the numbers seem to add up, so I'm setting myself this arbitrary challenge...

I rode every day for a month in August last year. It's quite a nice thing to do in the summer, less convinced about doing it in November! Oh go on then I'll do it too! Be a good way to justify the gastronomic blow out of Christmas that looms in the distance!

Although I think I could ride/do some sort of exercise everyday. I'm not convinced I could do an hour a day without getting run down. But its a great challenge! Especially doing it in November, I expect there to be an extra special workout for your birthday. Shame there are not 30hours in the day and you could just do a continuous exercise!

yes it probably will lead to some kind of illness/breakdown! but i'm intending on using commuting miles as well. as for birthday pain, i should be running in a fell race, so i might go easy on myself and count some turbo recovery miles.....i'm fiddling the stats already!! now if there were 30hrs in a day...!

may the force be with you jumbly, giant calorific rewards await ;)

So if your fell race only lasts 45minutes you'll have to keep running when everyone else stops?

I suppose you could road bike 30miles, run 30miles, mountain bike 30 miles to celebrate ;)

I really shouldn't suggest things like that it's nearly my 30th!

Fiddling the stats is totally acceptable! When I did mine before I counted things like riding for an ice cream, the whole trip took an hour but sitting round with a lolly was 30 of the 60 minutes, by half way through a bit of creative time keeping is allowed. It's meant to be fun too!

Which fell race are you entered for your birthday? One with a good pub at the end I trust so you can have a celebratory slurp of beer!

I'm sure simons 30in30 was actually an hour of exercise, which is why lots of them failed! One day I'll try it it looks like fun, but not motivated enough at the moment, even though it might be the only time I have enough time to do it!

Turbo does count though, not that I understand how people manage to pedal on a turbo, I tried once and got bored so started freewheeling!

jumbly-hoping to do the tour of pendle on the 15th and yes there will be beer!

trio-don't even joke about such challenges, you never know where it might lead ;)
